A runner since he was a teenager, store owner Andy Kimerling has always had a passion for running. In 1980, while having dinner at a local diner with his then running coach, the two came up with the “off-the-wall” idea to open a running store. Within a few months their idea exploded into reality and nearly 40 years later, Westchester Road Runner continues to be a leading retailer in the run specialty business.
And in those 40 years, Andy has seen a lot of changes in the running community.
“Our early running community was 90% men and mostly ex-high school and collegiate runners. Today, it's 60-40, women over men and many more fitness walkers and runners who don't see themselves as runners.”
But no matter why you’re in the store, the experience and knowledgeable staff at Westchester Road Runner will make sure you receive the highest level of service, while providing the widest running shoe selection in the Tri-State area.
